Accessibility audit process

A transparent sequence so procurement, legal, and engineering know what happens each week. Timings assume a medium-sized marketing site; complex authenticated apps may add parallel test accounts.

  1. Intake & access — You provide staging URLs, role-based logins, and the three tasks real users struggle with most. We confirm WCAG target (usually 2.2 AA) and out-of-scope areas.
  2. Automated baseline — We run scanners to catch low-hanging fruit, then discard noise that manual review would override. Results feed the report appendix only.
  3. Manual & AT testing — Keyboard paths, screen reader announcements, focus visibility, and form error handling on each template in scope.
  4. Draft report — You validate URLs and severity labels. We adjust wording so policy owners understand risk without reading source code.
  5. Walkthrough — Live session demonstrating the top ten issues and answering developer questions. Recording optional.
  6. Remediation support — Optional pairing days booked separately; we re-test critical fixes before your launch window.

What to prepare

Stable staging, realistic content (not lorem ipsum in headings), and a contact who can grant CMS access if we need to verify editor-generated markup. PDFs linked from the site should be listed even if we only sample them.
